29/08/2010 - With the car basically ready a few weeks before the next event (Duke Stages 11th september), bar a little more running in, I has given me chance to get a few more of our old rally videos up on YouTube for prosperity. this are office event videos or ones other people have put together. Have a look at my channel for updated videos.

12/08/2010 - spent the last few days trying to sort out the slight over fuelling of the carbs. It had started with the Red top pump seeming to fail although internally it looks fine, so we decided to replace the red top with a solid state pump sp we then would run with that one when on road sections and when the car is at a stand still due to its lower pressure and then just the Silver top for the stages. This should give less strain on the regulator and the Weber's. While we were at it we installed pre filters to the pumps after some advice, basically just a safety net. With that we also updated the hose to full metal braiding same as what we run through the car as the blue braided hoses appeared to be breaking down, probably because they were standing so long with fuel in them.

Final bit of tweaking was with the float chambers in the DCOE Weber's, these needed to be adjust back to the factory maintenance setting. So another go at getting this slight over fuelling sorted hopefully

10/08/2010 - Just swapped the steering rack mounts from the alloy ones back to the standard rack mounts but the with the HD rubber. The PTFE spacer blocks were getting a bit worn and deformed so we have opted to go back to the standard setup as it is better for the rack life in general. Just waiting on the new fuel pressure regulator to replace the existing Filter king as it seems to be giving some erratic readings.

09/08/2010 - Basically there now, Fingers crossed anyway. Gallery below just shows some of the exterior and then of the completed engine bay, we as much as they ever are anyway. Still have a couple hundred miles of running in for the engine to do and the the first oil change is due shortly but so far looking good.

15/07/2010 - New engine starting to take shape, the ancillaries like starter motor, coil pack, alternator etc are being mounted. Still waiting on a few parts to finish but this allow us to finish the fitting the new door cards. We were originally running with Aluminium ones that came fitted to the car when I first bought it ( many many years ago) but to be honest after comparing the weight is silly to still be running with them, we didn't do any specific weights but just by the feel of them they are much lighter and better looking, have a look below.

14/07/2010 - Slightly interesting news, basically after getting her up and running with the Megajolt the No. 4 cylinder went pop. Either a piston ring or a valve has collapsed. So we took the decision to go for a brand new engine, this time a blacktop variant from a Focus, these were the last generation of Zetec before they moved to the Duratec. Well anyway engine is in now and just need to put the ancillaries back on and hope nothing leaks :) Few snap in the below gallery showing the differences to the engine compared to the Silver top

01/07/2010 - She lives again, Megajolt installed and started first time :) built up a new loom which spliced in easily with the existing loom. Only running with the default map at the moment until we can get a hang of the software but everything works so we are happy and it sounds great. With it being the Rally Isle of Man this weekend it makes it very difficult to do any testing but we might get out on Monday due to it being a bank holiday.
